About Saraya
Built around the belief that people matter most
Saraya was founded in Bangkok to bring a patient, external ear to organisations navigating the quieter challenges of working life together.
Back to HomeOur Story
Where Saraya came from
Saraya started from a simple observation: most organisations have thoughtful people who want things to work well — and yet the daily texture of working together often goes unexamined. Conversations that could help things shift happen in corridors or not at all. A session that holds those conversations with care can open something useful.
We began offering facilitated listening sessions to small teams in Bangkok in 2019, and over time expanded our approach to include longer Engagement Improvement projects and ongoing advisory relationships. Each format grew from what organisations actually asked for after a first engagement.
Today, Saraya works with a range of organisations across sectors — from family-owned businesses with fifteen staff to international companies with offices throughout Thailand. What stays consistent is our approach: we come to listen, we leave a written record, and we move at the pace the organisation can absorb.
Our Mission
What we are here to do
Listen first
Every engagement begins with genuine curiosity about how things feel from the inside. We do not arrive with an answer already formed.
Document with care
What we hear is turned into a plain, honest written output — themes, suggestions, or agreed next steps — that organisations can use without us present.
Support gradual change
We help organisations take small, real steps rather than large structural changes that rarely hold. Slow is often more durable.
Our People
The team behind Saraya
Three practitioners who bring different backgrounds to the same table — and the same commitment to working respectfully with people.
Pornpimol Mahasarakham
Founder & Lead Facilitator
Pornpimol has spent fifteen years in organisational development roles across Thailand and leads Saraya's facilitation work. She trained in facilitated dialogue in Singapore and brings a warm, unhurried quality to all sessions.
Krit Wongsakorn
Engagement Advisor
Krit focuses on the Engagement Improvement projects and brings a background in people operations from the technology sector. He is particularly good at translating themes heard in a session into practical, achievable steps.
Naphat Phromphitak
Culture & Documentation Specialist
Naphat handles the written outputs and ongoing advisory documentation for Saraya. She has a background in qualitative research and takes care that written summaries capture what actually matters — not just what was easy to record.
How We Work
Principles that guide our practice
These are not slogans. They are the practical commitments we make to each organisation we work with.
Confidentiality as standard
We clarify what stays private before any session begins. We do not attribute specific comments to individuals in written outputs unless explicitly agreed.
Agreed scope before we start
For every engagement, we confirm the purpose, participants, outputs, and boundaries in writing before the work begins. No ambiguity about what is included.
No licensed or regulated advice
Saraya provides advisory and facilitation services. We do not practise as therapists, legal advisors, or HR compliance specialists. We are clear about this boundary.
Data handled carefully
All written notes and session materials are stored securely. We follow Thailand's PDPA requirements and do not keep personal data beyond the engagement period without explicit agreement.
Accessible language throughout
We avoid jargon in sessions and in our written outputs. The goal is that any team member can read a summary and understand it, not just those familiar with specialist frameworks.
Follow-up built in
Every engagement includes at least one follow-up exchange. We want to know what actually happened after the session — not just deliver an output and disappear.
Saraya in Context
Advisory work for Bangkok organisations
Workplace culture advisory in Thailand operates at an interesting intersection. Thai organisational culture places a strong emphasis on hierarchy and relational harmony — both of which can make direct feedback channels difficult to build and maintain. Saraya's facilitation approach acknowledges these dynamics without treating them as problems to remove. Instead, we look for the small adjustments that work within the existing fabric of a team.
Engagement, in our usage, refers to the degree to which people find their work meaningful and feel genuinely part of the organisation's direction. It is not the same as happiness or satisfaction — someone can be satisfied without being engaged, and engaged without being particularly happy on a given day. Our advisory work draws a practical distinction between these, because the actions that improve each are quite different.
Saraya's location in Samphanthawong, Bangkok, reflects a deliberate choice to work close to the diverse commercial districts of the city. Our clients include organisations in retail, food and beverage, professional services, education, and light manufacturing. What they share is a leadership team that has recognised the value of understanding their people's experience more clearly — and a willingness to set aside time for that understanding to develop properly.
Our written outputs are in English as a default, with Thai available on request. We work in both languages in sessions, following the preferences of participants.
